RMR Assessment

The RMR assessment is a simple test.  The hardest part of this test is fasting for 8 hours prior to your assessment.  After that, all it involves is wearing an air tight mask while sitting in a chair and breathing for 8-12 minutes to give us an accurate amount of data to measure your metabolism.  The results from the assessment will give us a clear indication of how efficient your metabolism is working and the most crucial piece of the results is the amount of calories your body needs at rest.  The benefits to this portion of the test are to find out how many calories you should be taking in to feed your metabolism to work more efficiently for you!

EMR Assessment

The EMR assessment is the exercise portion of the testing. It again requires the client to wear an air-tight mask and exercise on a piece of cardio equipment for 8-12 minutes.  The only requirement for this portion of the assessment is that you cannot exercise 24 hours prior to participating in the test.  The results that you will receive from this assessment are really eye opening.  The test will show you the different heart rate intensities that you worked at over the entirety of the assessment and at what heart rates you burn fat the most efficiently and what heart rate you begin to just burn off glycogen (sugar) stored in the muscle for short fast spurts of energy.   The benefits to this assessment is finding out what heart rates you burn fat efficiently and what heart rates we need to train to teach your body to burn fat more efficiently.

8 week Cardio Program

After the testing we let the science goes to work for you. For your effort, you get a lot of detailed, personalized feedback about your caloric needs, your current level of fitness, and a sense of what you need to do next in order to move toward your health, fitness, or performance goal.  Now it’s time for us to look at your specific heart rate intensities and decide what intensity you should be training at over the next 8 weeks to best suit your needs.  The program will be laid out in a weekly program, telling you how long and at what intensities you should be working at for every workout!  After 8 weeks, it’s time to come back in and re-test your metabolism!  If you need help along the way our consultants would be happy to set up an appointment to just check-in and keep you on track!  We want you to succeed, so we want to make sure you understand exactly what you are doing and why it is important.
